SMR Architects is seeking an Architectural Staff 2/Architect 2 person to join our passionate, mission-focused, and award-winning practice in Pioneer Square, Seattle. This individual will be a key member of our office, individual project teams, and will contribute significantly to our overall success.

The ideal candidate has an architectural degree and minimum of 6 years’ work experience; is self-motivated; has excellent communication and interpersonal skills; is committed to positively contributing to a strong and diverse community; and is interested in working on mission driven projects. Applicants should have experience with all design phases, project documentation, detailing, and a basic understanding of building, land use, and energy codes. A working knowledge of Revit is required. Prior experience with multi-family housing, renovation, and/or historic preservation projects is highly desired. This position requires a minimum of 60% in-office work.

For individuals pursuing licensure, SMR supports NCARB’s Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and provides opportunities for staff to work on all phases and facets of projects of varying size, scope, and style. We encourage pursuit of licensure and provide access to Architecture Registration Exam (ARE) study material as well as partially covering the cost of exam fees and paying for the initial licensing period.

Wage Range: $69,500 – $85,600 / $74,900 – $90,950
