New Tacoma I & II

 

New Tacoma Senior Housing Apartments was developed in two phases over a five-year period with Mercy Housing Northwest. Both phases amount to $19.6 million. The building is 4-stories with a total of 114 one-bedroom units and a two-bedroom manager’s unit. Located on a steeply sloping site in Tacoma’s Hillside neighborhood and featuring breathtaking views of Commencement Bay, the development includes two large multi-purpose community rooms, a first-floor terrace with gazebo and raised garden beds for tenant p-patches, computer lab, arts and crafts room, exercise and flex rooms, nurses offices, a fourth-floor roof deck, common laundry rooms, management offices, and a parking garage.   These affordable, one- to two-person units are also universally designed. Funding included Low Income Housing Tax Credits, WA Housing Trust Fund, and HUD 202 dollars.
