The ideal candidate has 3 to 6 years’ work experience; is self-motivated; has excellent communication and interpersonal skills; is committed to positively contributing to a strong and diverse community; interested in mission driven projects. Applicants should have experience with all design phases, project documentation, detailing, and a basic understanding of building, land use, and energy codes. Working knowledge of Revit is required. Prior experience with multi-family housing, renovation, and historic preservation projects is highly desired.

For individuals pursuing licensure, SMR supports NCARB’s Architectural Experience Program (AXP) and provides opportunities for staff to work on all phases and facets of projects of varying size, scope, and style. We encourage pursuit of licensure and provide access to Architecture Registration Exam (ARE) study material as well as partially covering the cost of exam fees and initial licensing period.
