We are excited to announce that Doug Ito has been selected as the recipient of the 2024 AIA Whitney M. Young Jr. Award, a distinguished national honor presented by the AIA annually since 1972. This award is bestowed upon an architect or organization that profoundly demonstrates social responsibility and actively addresses critical social issues such as affordable housing, inclusiveness, or universal accessibility. As this year’s recipient, Doug has been recognized by his peers for his leadership in affordable housing and embodying the values of equity, diversity, and inclusion through his work. By receiving this award, he has also earned the high distinction of elevation to Fellowship within the AIA—a meaningful achievement denoting significant contributions to the profession.
