Program

The project offers one- and two-bedroom units with 64 affordable units for households earning between 30% and 60% AMI, and 14 units are reserved for people exiting homelessness and 14 units are designated for people with disabilities. The building was designed to ensure the redevelopment of the Hilltop aligns with THA’s mission statement of providing “safe, vibrant, prosperous, attractive, and just housing.” The Rise’s bright exterior colors are visible as you approach Tacoma on I-5. Inside, the building has splashes of color and features a vibrant lobby with a waiting area, a community room with a kitchen and television, bike storage, and a laundry room with lounge space that opens onto a courtyard. Outside, residents can enjoy an expansive outdoor patio with a BBQ area, natural play area, raised garden beds, and an impressive public art installation called “The Jewels” that was designed by local artist Diane Hansen.
