Bellwether Housing

This project completes a larger campus that includes the adjacent Rose Street Apartments, completed in 2011, also owned and operated by Bellwether Housing. The development is designed with families in mind, with apartments designed to accommodate large households, and multiple gathering and amenity spaces to support community and family life. Community-focused amenities at Flourish on Rainier include a shared community room for gatherings and activities that can accommodate over 100 people, and a large outdoor courtyard that includes play spaces for children with outdoor seating and gardening areas. The Flourish on Rainier development includes two non-profit community organizations that serve the broader community. Muslim Housing Services provides family support services; and Empowering Youth and Families Outreach operates a childcare and youth center. Flourish on Rainier offers more than just shelter; it cultivates a comprehensive living space designed to address the varied requirements of its residents. Flourish on Rainier showcases the work of four local artists, distinguishing itself through its incorporation of murals. The featured artists are Ari Glass, Barry Johnson, Craig Cundiff, and Che Sehyun. These artists designed and installed murals that adorn the building, each telling a unique story that reflects the community’s spirit and diversity. This combination of affordable housing, family-friendly design, communal spaces, and integrated services makes Flourish on Rainier a significant addition to the neighborhood, enhancing the overall campus started by Rose Street Apartments and contributing to the area’s affordable housing options.
