American Baptist Homes of the West (ABHOW)
The project included occupied renovation with upgrades to residential corridors and units. The resident floor corridors received cosmetic, lighting, and life safety upgrades. All domestic water, sewer, plumbing, and mechanical systems received full replacement. The common area first floor and basement modifications included removal of a sub-divided kitchen, living, and dining areas to create open, light-filled spaces where residents can enjoy views of Mount Rainier and Puget Sound. A major goal for the renovation was to connect the indoors with the outdoors and provide a modern approach to active senior life. The newly appointed common areas include health and fitness rooms, kitchen and bistro counter areas, a new central stair connection from the first floor to the basement, family and community rooms, a new laundry facility, and administrative offices.
