Hoa Mai Gardens

SMR partnered with Seattle Housing Authority on Hoa Mai Gardens, the third building in the redevelopment of Yesler Terrace. Located between the Yesler Community Center and Yesler Hillclimb, the project provides 111 one- to four-bedroom units of affordable family housing with breathtaking views of the Puget Sound, Cascade Mountains, and Mt. Rainier. No fossil fuels were used in the building systems, which include: solar hot water pre-heat, rainwater harvesting, and gray water piping systems for toilet flushing. A pedestrian path on the west side of the project connects the site to the Yesler Terrace neighborhood’s network of walking and bicycling pathways.
