Clover Place is a new DESC permanent supportive housing development, bringing 95 studio apartments to Seattle's Woodland neighborhood for single adults navigating both severe mental illness and chronic homelessness. The building reflects DESC's dual commitment to environmental sustainability and whole-person wellness, offering more than a roof overhead; it's a place designed to support recovery, dignity, and long-term growth. Five units meet ADA accessibility standards, and 25 apartments are set aside for Apple Health and Homes referrals, with careful vulnerability assessments ensuring the city's most at-risk residents move to the front of the line. Indoor and outdoor spaces throughout the building, a courtyard, an activity room, shared dining areas, are designed to bring residents together and support healing through connection. The building's name honors a longtime DESC nurse remembered for her client-centered care and her own firsthand understanding of housing instability, a legacy that continues to shape how DESC shows up for the community.
